I dreamed about the stars
as they covered the dress of Aphrodite
and she danced
I dreamed about the sun
as it warmed the homeless and hungry
as the wandered with nothing more
I dreamed about the moon
as it lit the way for the ship
bringing soldiers home to their families
I dreamed about the trees
as they made shade for the workers
as they sat through the evening in rest
all of us living unappreciative
wandering over that which feeds us
that which shelters us with no thanks
the mother of us all slowly dying
waiting for her hard earned thanks
and we walk on
dreaming
