He didn't mean to leave but the way he did hurt
though he didn't bleed he wore a soaking shirt
he said he'd always be with me always by my side
but then he died in the waters the ones with out a tide
never again will he hold me and tell me everything's alright
never again will he love me or hug me really tight
I know he went to heaven to live a better life
I know he didn't want to leave me all the pain and strife
he's up in heaven now living happy and free
though he can't be with me he's part of God's family
